Dosing

How dosing usually works

Sermorelin is dosed nightly, timed to work with your body's own overnight growth hormone pulse. Below is the typical pattern. Your provider sets your schedule and can adjust it based on how you respond.

Typical dosing pattern for compounded sermorelin

TimingWhat it means
Nightly injectionA small subcutaneous injection, typically 30 to 60 minutes before bed, on an empty stomach.
Empty stomach mattersEating close to your dose can blunt the release your provider is trying to support. Most providers ask you to avoid food for at least 2 hours before.
Weeks 1 to 4Your provider's starting dose. This period is about tolerance and building the habit of a consistent nightly routine.
OngoingYour provider reviews how you are sleeping and recovering at each monthly check-in and adjusts the dose if needed.
1

Same time, every night

Consistency is what makes this work with your body's own rhythm. Pick a routine you can actually keep.

2

Rotate the site

Stomach or thigh, moving the spot each night. Your kit comes with everything you need and written instructions.

3

Protect your sleep

Sermorelin supports the pulse your body makes during deep sleep. Poor sleep habits work against it, not with it.

This schedule is a general reference, not medical advice or a prescription. Your provider sets your dose. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. Results vary and are not guaranteed.

Safety

Side effects, plainly

Sermorelin is a real medication with real side effects. Most are mild and related to the injection itself. Read this part before you start, and ask your provider anything it raises.

The common ones

These are reported often and are usually mild.

  • Redness, swelling, or itching at the injection site
  • Flushing or a warm feeling in the face shortly after injecting
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Vivid dreams or a change in sleep pattern in the first weeks
  • Mild nausea

What helps: rotating the injection site, keeping the nightly timing consistent, and giving your body a few weeks to adjust. Your provider can change your dose if a side effect does not settle.

Call your provider right away if

  • You have a severe or persistent headache, especially with vision changes. This can be a sign of increased pressure and needs prompt attention.
  • You develop swelling in your hands, feet, or joints that does not go away.
  • You notice new or worsening joint pain that limits how you move.
  • You have signs of an allergic reaction: rash, hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, or trouble breathing.
  • You have a personal or family history of certain tumors and were not asked about it during your intake.

If it feels like an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Do not wait on a message.

Who should not take sermorelin

Do not use sermorelin if you have an active malignancy or a history of certain tumors, since it works by increasing growth hormone signaling. Do not use it if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Tell your provider before you start if you have a pituitary tumor or any history of pituitary disease, a seizure disorder, diabetes, or any active cancer. List every medication and supplement you take, since sermorelin can interact with other hormone therapies and with medications that affect blood sugar.

Sermorelin is not approved by the FDA for anti-aging, bodybuilding, or athletic performance use, and we do not prescribe it for those purposes. It is prescribed for adults where a provider determines it is appropriate based on a full evaluation.

Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. Compounded sermorelin is prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy and is not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality. Results vary and are not guaranteed. This page is general information, not medical advice, and it does not replace a conversation with your provider. Medication is prescribed only if a licensed provider determines it is appropriate after an evaluation. Before you start, you will review and sign our telehealth consent.

Sermorelin · month 6

"The monthly check-in is a real message thread, not a form. I asked whether it was worth staying on and got a straight answer instead of a sales pitch."

Verified patient · results vary
Sermorelin · month 2

"Nothing felt different for me in the first few weeks and I was ready to cancel. The provider had been upfront that it can take a while, and cancelling would have been easy either way."

Some patients start with sermorelin alone. Others pair it with a longevity or hormone program once a provider has reviewed their full history. Nothing here is bundled automatically. Your provider decides what makes sense together.

FAQ

Questions about sermorelin

Is sermorelin a weight-loss drug?

No. Sermorelin is not prescribed for weight loss on its own, and we do not market it that way. It is a peptide associated with sleep quality, recovery, and healthy aging support. Any change in body composition depends far more on your sleep, training, and diet than on the peptide itself.

How is it different from HGH?

Sermorelin is not synthetic growth hormone. It is a peptide that signals your own pituitary gland to release its own growth hormone, in the natural pulsed pattern your body already uses. That is a gentler mechanism than injecting growth hormone directly, and it is part of why the two are prescribed differently.

How do I actually take it?

A small injection under the skin, once a night, roughly 30 to 60 minutes before bed and on an empty stomach. You rotate the injection site between the stomach and thigh. Your first shipment includes the vial, syringes, and written instructions, and your care team walks you through the first dose if you want.

When would I notice anything?

Most patients who notice a change report it somewhere between weeks 4 and 8, usually in sleep quality first. Some notice nothing measurable, and that is not unusual with a peptide working through a hormone pathway. Results vary and are not guaranteed, and your provider tracks how you are doing at each monthly check-in.

Can I take sermorelin with semaglutide or tirzepatide?

Sometimes, and that is a provider decision, not a checkout option. Tell us everything you are currently taking during the health check. Your provider reviews your full history before approving any combination.

What does the $150 cover, and what is not included?

It covers your provider visit and review, your medication when it is prescribed, dose changes, injection supplies, monthly check-ins, unlimited messaging with your care team, and shipping. It does not cover lab work if your provider orders it outside our program, or care from other clinicians. No insurance is billed. You are not charged at all if a provider decides sermorelin is not appropriate for you.

Do I have to stay on it forever?

That is a conversation with your provider, not a policy. Some people use it for a defined period tied to a training block or a season of poor sleep. Some stay on it longer with provider oversight. You can cancel your program anytime, and one message to the care team is enough to do it.

Which states can you ship to?

Nationwide. Medication ships from a US licensed pharmacy and typically arrives in 3 to 5 days after a provider prescribes. Details are on the shipping page.

How long until it shows up?

A licensed provider usually reviews your intake within 24 to 48 hours. If you are approved, your medication ships from a US-licensed pharmacy and generally arrives in 3 to 5 days in plain packaging with no branding on the outside.
